So, a week and a half ago we went to the Cactus Club downtown to celebrate Sarah's birthday. I decided to have a vodka martini with my dinner, so when the waitress asked, I ordered:
Clearly the bartender decided that they were dealing with a real smartass drink-snob (probably an accurate assessment), so they decided that they would gracefully balance four skewers of three olives each on my glass. For those who know maths, that's twelve olives.
You can see how pleased I am by this. I got Angela to eat a skewer for me (so all the salt didn't bring my heart to a screeching halt), but the remaining nine olives were mine, MINE! Muah ha ha...
Jesse:http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/09/spider-silk/ Jen H: Cool. Jen H: Those spiders are pretty intense looking. Jesse: It took 4 years and a million spiders in milking machines to do it Jesse: To make a 11x4 foot cloth Jen H: Yeah. Quite the project. Jesse: I want it Jesse: I want to TOUCH it Jen H: lol Jen H: Yeah. Jen H: It's very pretty. Nice colour. Jen H: Plus... come on... the novelty of having that? haha Jesse: Yup yup Jesse: And ridiculously durable Jesse: Once they figure out how to mass produce that stuff Jesse: Throw all your nicest clothes in the washer. It's okay. Jesse: They're stronger than STEEL. Jen H: I'll have to get a dress made out of it. Jesse: "I'm wearing my spider dress tonight" Jen H: haha. Yes. Jen H: I so want a spider dress...
Now that the yearly fervour has died down, and the crowds have gone home, and there is no Bush in the White House, I feel that I can finally sit down and have a personal moment to reflect on 9/11.
Up until this moment, it was simply not possible. As I lamented in years past, my deep emotions on the subject were co-opted by morallycorruptpoliticians. So, I had to stash away the intense feelings I have on the subject until this day, the political spring of the United States of America.
“The Cat Piano” by The People’s Republic of Animation brings cats, gorgeous animation, and film noir together at last. It's narrated by Nick Cave. So Danielle, try to keep your pants on.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here before, but for the last several months our government has been holding a Canadian Copyright Consultation online.
Today is the last day to make a submission. As is typical for me, I waited until today to finally draft and submit my thoughts on the matter.
I avoided writing specific answers to each of the questions provided and chose a more freeform style focusing on the issues I feel are most paramount when considering any updated copyright legislation. You can read my submission in the extended entry.
