Allen, if you haven't already seen this, have I got a treat for you...

So, tire maker Dunlop decided, as corporations do, to do some kind of crazy promotional stunt to get media attention. Apparently they concluded that the best way to show that their tires would hold to the road and not burst under pressure was to build a giant vertical loop and drive a little car through it like some kind of giant Hot-Wheels playset.

The video on the website is pretty amazing. I'm guessing there was some pretty serious physics involved, as well as some serious bravery/stupidity (physics + stupidity = ???). Love it.

that was pretty great, thanks for pointing it out. I do have to agree to some extent with some of comments about how centriphical(sp?) force probably had more to do with completing the loop than the tires

Centrifugal. I know, weird pronunciation.

Call me almost internet-jaded, but I'm actually almost convinced that they actually accomplished that, and didn't just use some post production ILM pixie dust.

also, centripetal/centrifugal:

ILM pixie dust costs more anyway...
