See now, mere mortals, the progress of my adopted vegetable offspring:

The Great Pumpkin!!!

The photo on the left was taken a week ago, the photo on the right was taken today. The pumpkin has doubled in size and is currently about the size of a smallish cantaloupe.

One day it will be mighty, and on that day I will make pie.

I'm not really into cyberpunk, but even I have to admit these LED-lit faux cybernetic wings look pretty amazing.

Sitting in the Blenz on Granville waiting for a friend. Loud hipster-rock blaring from the speakers hardly makes for the relaxing coffee-shop ethos I expected, and simultaneously makes me feel old.

It has been stupidly busy and stressful at work lately. I've been dealing with demanding clients and a demanding mail server, so not a lot of thought has gone into blogging. As such, this is a make-up post.

I don't normally go for the ridiculous inspirational stuff. But this video of Christian the Lion that Nadia sent me completely defies expectations and made my day. Watch it, perhaps with the sound off.

As you've no doubt noticed, I'm being stalked by Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. A little background info is perhaps beneficial. Dr. Horrible is a made for the internet mini-musical, created by Joss Whedon and friends. It stars the totally-not-washed-up-teenage-actor Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, an aspiring supervillain of the "evil genius" archetype. It is a well written tragi-comedy with some amazingly infectious songs and serious geek appeal. It consists of three 15-minute parts and I heartily recommend that you all watch it.

Heading up to Pender Harbour this weekend for some well-needed R&R. Wish me well.

The most recent MAD magazine has a two page comic spread entitled "Calvin and Jobs", starring Steve Jobs in place of Hobbes the Tiger.

Someone has been kind enough to put both pages on Flickr.
