« If you can read this... | Canadian DMCA » 12-01-07 Rocking out to CSS's glorious electroclash tones lately, with songs such as Alala and the whimsically titled Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above (further reference). I took a walk earlier so that I didn't feel like my body was turning a slug. At some point I looked down at the sidewalk on 6th street in New West and realized I was scuffing up pristine, untouched snow. Somehow it felt good that I was the lucky one to do that. As I got nearer back to the co-op, I had an overwhelming urge to to draw a smiley face in the snow on a car. I decided it might as well be my car, 'cause sometimes people can get weird about touching their stuff. Understandable, I guess. So I draw the face on my car: two dark eyes in the middle of the snow-covered windshield, and a smile on the hood. I admire my work and walk across the street to the back door of the co-op. Then I notice that during my walk, someone has done the exact same thing to another car on the block. It's a little uncanny for reality, but makes me feel a strange sense or connectedness with humanity. Which, let me tell you, is a rare sort of moment in this life of mine. I can't get Photoshop 7.0 to run on my Intel Mac. This makes me sad. I think I need to get my hands on CS3. It'll be hard for me to design my new site without trusty Photoshop by my side. Posted on December 1, 2007 09:24 PM Comments: Heh, I drew the face on my bosses truck when I went to pick up the vehicle for the evening, I wonder what he'll say when I see him today. I drove out to your place last night to visit Jeff, it's a shame you and Angela weren't there, we had a nice quiet evening. Don't blame Jeff, it's not his fault, the party fell thru for a few reasons, not the least of which being the snow I'm sure. Anyhow, that's getting off the topic I had in mind. In driving to your place last night you can imagine that I might encounter the worst of conditions and drivers on the roads but I was surprised to note that I oly saw one driver being idiotic, and that's for the drive there and the drive back, the roads, which are usually such a disaster for the first snow of the year, were actually not bad. I was forced to reevaluate my general dislike for the other commuters I share the road with last night. So in the spirit of that reevaluation, Cheers to the people who didn't drive like morons, or speed demons, or bumper car drivers last night. Thanks! to the hard working snowplow drivers and salt truck drivers for keeping my route home clear of snow and Happy holidays to all the idiots who grew a brain enough to realize they didn't have the skillz to navigat the weather last night and stayed home :-)! You all made my night. Posted on December 2, 2007 08:11 AMUnfortunately it's kind of my fault he wasn't able to be there to hang out with you guys. I was out for a few hours in the evening, hoping to be back in time to spend some quality time with him... only to get shafted by transit trying to work in the snow. I got home 2 hours later than I wanted to and he was really bored and lonely. :( Yes, we will be together soon enough! The drive back from Angela's to my house in the middle of the day was nerve racking, to say the least. I was, however, thankful to see that the good city of Burnaby had seen fit to make sure the terrifying hill down Canada Way was extra clear of snow. Thank God I didn't have to slide down that one. Posted on December 2, 2007 08:55 PMMan, I love when I'm home alone getting ready for a concert or something and I just blare "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death from Above". So good.
