This is awesome. It would totally go on my desktop if it weren't so distracting.

Soundwave gets a bad rap for being a tape deck. But I have a soft spot for him. And I still have Blaster around somewhere.

While we're on the subject of Transformers, you need to watch Optimus Prime's Rude Awakening, it's basically hilarious.

To answer your next question; no, I did not see that travesty known as Transformers the "movie". Michael Bay raped our childhoods. Stop congratulating him. Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies? 'Cause Pearl Harbour sucked, just a little bit more than I miss you.

dude I'm glad some people agree with me that the Transformers movie wasn't all that.

You're not the only one who thinks so.

I know that you're endtitled to express your own opinion on your blog I would put forth that you calling the transformers movie a travesty is not strictly your opinion, and that it might not be as bad as some people say it is. Please remember that if you go back as adults and watch the same transformers cartoon that we all knew and loved when we were children it does not hold the same apeal, it's actually quite dull and repetative. Perhaps the people who've gone to see this movie and given bad reviews were expecting too much from a weak story to begin with. All I'm saying is, if you're going to bash it openly on your blog, at least go and see it yourself and be informed in the first person.

Wow, someone took their cod-liver oil this morning.

Why? What could that possibly accomplish? When people describe the movie exactly as I fear it, what point is served by me going to see a movie I won't enjoy?

Consequently, the harm done is that Hollywood gets my dollar in their pocket. One more dollar that says: "Yes. Make these kind of movies." My dollar is a vote, and whether your say it statistically matters or not, I'll vote no.

If you enjoyed Transformers, great: I'm sure that it's entertaining in some ways. But I'm entertained enough, I want a little more from movies.

You know, Jesse. I loved Transformers. The CGI's probably the best I've ever seen and visually, the movie's stunning to watch. Sure it can be cheesy in spots, but so was the cartoon! I thought it really captured the spirit of the original series and watching it kinda made me feel like a kid again. Besides, years ago, the animated movie was a critical flop and no one's really saying that it's "bad" this time around, they're saying that it's hokey.

Although I will admit that I was annoyed that they changed Bumblebee. Apparently, they felt that he might get confused with Herbie. WTF? And if it makes you feel better, Michael Bay originally didn't want the job, because he felt it was a "stupid toy movie".

You liked Independence Day enough when they blew up the White House. Here they blow up a military base and half a city.

So does this mean that Michael Bay's been put on the same list as Impark and Costco?

Independence Day was a long time ago. I've grown up. ;-)

And I'm coming around to Costco, they're a hell of a lot better than WalMart.

Ya know, I'm gonna agree with Chris and Beanie. If base a movie on a sub-par cartoon then what you're gonna get is a movie that, while not deep, is thoroughly entertaining and fun to just watch. Not sure what people were expecting. Also, since you haven't even seen the movie, I'm not sure how you can have an opinion so maybe try to stop band-wagon piggy-backing on web comics and basically imaginary people on review sites for an argument. Go, see the movie, THEN post your opinion. I'll respect it more once you know what you're talking about.

I'm not saying that you have to go to see the movie, I'm just saying that you bash it based on second and third hand info and that may be unfair, you'll never know if you don't see it.

Transformers was crap.
Even compared to the show, which was crap, it was crap.
It spent more time with a dozen boring, stereotyped human characters than it did with the bloody robots. The movie is called "Transformers" not "Annoying People Who Are Peripherally Related to the Transformers."

The battle scenes, while impressive CG wise, were made lame by the fact that you couldn't tell the bloody transformers apart. Partly because they all look the same, and partly cause none of them have any distinguishing characteristics cause a good half of them didn't even talk.

Going to make a movie about robots, show the robots. Don't cut costs by using as few special effects shots as possible and then round it out with black stereotypes, military masturbation, and shots of John Voight shouting orders while walking down a hallway.

Statements like that will get you a copy of Transformers for Xmas. ;-) It shall be purchased at WalMart and the receipt taped to it, so you'll know exactly where it came from. :-P

I saw a commercial today for Rush Hour 3 and my immediate thought was that soon you'll have a reason to get over Transformers and get yourself some new fodder...

As with anything starring Chris Tucker, I tend to take the "cower in the corner and surround myself with warm, warm denial" approach.
