« Lego Stadium | Just like the Edison twins » 06-27-07 "Truth is stranger than fiction" is an axiom often paraded out by 20th century history buffs who moonlight as conspiracy theorists. But when it comes to the filthy underworkings of the world-war, cold-war, war-on-terror era, they're probably right. The CIA recently declassified a huge range of documents between 1950 and the 1970s. Dubbed "the family jewels" by the media, the declassification covers a mountain of dirty laundry, including domestic spying, testing of experimental drugs, and opening private mail. But the most outrageous revelation (it's making headlines today) is that the CIA conspired with the Mafia to assassinate Fidel Castro. That's right, government agents and mobsters working together to wack the president of Cuba. Bizarre. Oh America, you are a sick, sick puppy. O.o As for the just released papers... yes, many true things are stranger than we'd think. Maybe we'd be more used to it if we saw all this stuff instead of having it hidden away. Actually, I believe that America is comprised of over 300,000,000 sick puppies... Posted on June 27, 2007 06:03 PMThat seems about right. Posted on June 27, 2007 07:13 PMThey aren't all like that. Unfortunately those running the country presently are. Posted on June 28, 2007 08:02 AM |
