How much money would that be retroactive to your birth? Aside from "a lot". When you get that letter, recall that I could use a house in Kitsilano, and another in the south of France.

Thanks mom, if there's one person I can always count on to not have a sense of humor, it's you.

In fact, shortly after her appointment, Michaëlle Jean herself joked at a gala dinner she was hosting that she didn't get the job of Governor General because of all her incredible accomplishments, but rather, "Because I'm HOT!"

So Michaëlle Jean would laugh, and laughter was the only intent.
