According to the screen mounted in a seat in front of me, as I am writing this, I'm traveling at 865 kph at and altitude of 37153 ft (that's 11kM for the metrically-inclined). I've finally gotten to experience a flight on a plane with an entertainment system. Also, not only have I got the window seat, but the two seats next to me are empty. So while I watch whatever TV I want, I have the screen on the seat next to me to leave on the Livemap, which show me our current position, altitude and speed.
Now, let me say that it isn't all as great as it sounds. I've only managed to kill off 1:15, mostly watching news. There's 25 channels. Space is showing a rather depressing episode of Star Trek Voyager. There's also 5 movie channels that won't let you watch unless you swipe your credit card through the convenient reader at the side of the screen. The rest of the channels consist of a wide variety of news and channels like TLC and A&E, which are showing reality decorating crap right now. Whoop.
More to come from Montral tomorrow.

Angela Not just one but TWO extra seats... Definitely something to take advantage of.
INtriguing sounding entertainment set-up, though rather lame that it's not like renting a movie.

Ang's little sister I am one of those people who would wake up whoever is unfortunate enough to sit beside them to inform them of where we are, how fast we are going, how high up we are, and how many bolts are used in the plane that we are on.
Then again, I like to make people nervous.
