The blog has replaced the journal, and wrongly so. Especially those of us who have endeavored to publicize our sites as much as possible. Once you have a broad readership collected, you suddenly can't write about anything anymore. Someone will inevitably get offended. Perhaps they don't want to be privy to certain aspects of your personal life, or perhaps you'd be writing about an issue that the reader themselves is close to. In any case, the outlet for personal expression becomes useless, and one simply ends up doing things the healthy and old-fashioned way: bottling them up inside.

The most difficult thing you have to learn as an intimate person is that in the end, we are all inevitably alone. Nothing can ever change that.

healthy?

That's why, although I like to put many things out in the open on my "blog", I still sometimes prefer to pull out a piece of paper and pen and just write, to express ideas, thoughts and feelings solely for myself.

Tongue-in-cheek, darling.

I've never liked writing with pen and paper. For starters, I hate paper. Paper is dead trees. I've hated handwriting since the second grade (they could never get me to stay between the lines).

No, it's all digital for me. Perhaps a private blog is in order...

If it had been any kind of serious I would be unpleased.

Well, there is always hemp paper. Or even just paper made from recycled paper. AND if you're writing for yourself, there's no need to stay between the lines. :P

But yes, as long as you have something that works just for you.
