« Nadia e-mail | All right... » 09-12-05 People confuse me, always have, always will. Probably the biggest cause of this confusion is the fact that people never actually say what they mean. If you're disagreeing with me right now, you're WRONG. There's always some level of pretense at work for the sake of politeness or propriety or something else that's utter bullshit. And I'm sick of it. I'm sick of it and have been made sick of it for the last time. So I'm going to give you two pieces of advice: First of all, when you talk to me, you say what you MEAN. I spend so much of my time trying not to piss anyone off and it's still not enough. You tell me how you feel about what I've said or done, for good or for bad. You can be honest without inherently being offensive. I don't care what society has taught you about propriety, honesty is more important. Next of all, let's talk about the blog. It is a place where we express ourselves publicly, and for that it's a wonderful invention. But it is no substitute for TALKING TO YOUR FRIENDS. A blog is public: anyone and everyone can and will read it, and you should keep that in mind when you post. We are adults, and we solve our problems by talking them over with friends, not passing notes which inevitably are made privy to the rest of the class by a zealous teacher. Perhaps I've been guilty of this a few times in the past, but I've grown up. Enough of your all too thinly-veiled references, talk to your friends, that's what they're there for. There will be no more of this attempting to fit into social networks, you can all play by my rules now. So smarten up. Posted on September 12, 2005 12:00 AM |
