So, the big news today is that George Lucas has announced the title for Star Wars: Episode III. It will be known as "Revenge of the Sith". This tickles those of us who still have some misguided faith that Lucas can create a Star Wars prequel that doesn't suck. The sidebar of the page includes a tantalizing image of a dark Anakin Skywalker stepping from a firestorm, clad in dark robes and carrying a red lightsaber. Will Episode III be the thing that restores my faith in Sci-Fi, or will it be that which kills my faith once and for all? Time will tell.

I know I said I'd relate more about my trip to Ontario in my next post but, well, I lied. Here's something shiny for your desktop to distract you from my vile deception.

Hello!

I'm back from my wonderful trip to Ontario, where I visited Windsor, the hometown of my father and all his siblings, Whitby, my own hometown, and Toronto. I was lucky enough to meet most of my relatives after years of separation. I also saw my childhood best friend, Maggie. It's funny how people grow up but never really change. I kept a journal during some of my trip. Some of the entries may need to be "edited", but I think I'll share some with you guys in the near future. Stay tuned!

I'm crawling towards sanity here. I've created a cgi/ssi system which manages all my newsposts for me. Right now, This allows me to stick all my newsposts in a text file, and the scripts decide whether they should show up on the main page or in the archives file. I'm hoping to make a system where I can just type a spiel in a form, submit it, and have the script generate the HTML for me. That ease of use should mean that you'll be hearing much more from me.

My attempt to interest Nancy in playing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles has failed utterly. Nevertheless, her childhood memories of watching her brother play Final Fantasy games has taken hold and she at least enjoys watching me play. I must admit, the game is pretty fun just to watch: it's gorgeous. Great fun to play, too, especially in multiplayer mode.

Nancy has now watched both the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. She didn't hate them. That's all I'm allowed to say; I've been sworn to secrecy. You're allowed to make your own assumptions, though.
