Funny how things sometimes turn out exactly how you expect, huh? So it's a week and a day since my last post. I've purchased Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, and I've ordered two used Gameboy Advance systems off of eBay. It seems that Nintendo own my soul, now. Once again, I have some distant hope that the absolute beauty of the Crystal Chronicles world and the utter cuteness of things like Moogles will entice Nancy to play multiplayer with me (Bryn has already managed to get his Caravan to its 12 year with the help of his girlfriend, Jamie). Animal Crossing proved an utter failure to ensnare Nancy. I can't help feeling though that if the Gamecube resided in the same house which she lived in that she would eventually give into temptation. My sister Angel spends most of her time drawing things and eating junk food. Given that repertoire, if you're going to praise one of her efforts, it might as well be the creative one. So check out her new Deviant Art account with a smattering of Invader Zim fan art.

6-7-04 Monday, June 7, 2004 I've got a bunch of stuff to cram down your throats today. Firstly, the excellent news that Michael Moore's new movie Fahrenheit 9/11 has been picked up by good Canadian company Lion's Gate Films. It will be in theaters in North America on June 25th. Good for you, Mike!Keep fightin' the power. On a slow and somewhat bored friday, my good friend Bryn had the idea to expose me to Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. His stated that it was "the prettiest Nintendo game ever". I wasn't quite sure how to take that, but after seeing the game, I can say it was an apt assertion. The game is gorgeous. Xbox whores often point to the differences between Gamecube and XBox versions of games to prove their point that the XBox has more powerful rendering hardware. It's a specious argument: Crystal Chronicles shows us that when the software writer actually knows what they're doing, the Gamecube has incredibly powerful graphics capability. Bryn is the lucky owner of two Gameboy Advances, so the two of us were able to use the multiplayer feature. It's a fun game, a great game. I'd buy it, if I didn't know that Nintendo would soon be able to sap the money out of me for two Gameboy Advances. If you're not familiar with InvaderZim, you should be! Invader Zim was a great cartoon which was shown for three seasons on Nick before it was unjustly cancelled. The story follows a small green alien froma mighty space empire who is so annoyingly intent on being an invaderthat he is given a fake assignment to some distant planet... whichjust happens to be Earth. It's a hilarious show, and a unique cartoonwhich meets the standards of upper-echelon cartoons such as SamuraiJack and Dexter's Lab. Have a look in your local store for the just-releasedDVD of the first season. Check out Room with a Moose for more info on the series.
